Insurance & Payment
Every family deserves expert lactation support—without added stress or confusion. While I am currently an out-of-network provider, many insurance companies reimburse families for lactation services with proper documentation. I do my best to make it as easy as possible and provide a superbill for insurance reimbursement. Talk to me about reduced rates for WIC/Medicaid.

After your visit, you’ll receive a superbill—a special receipt with all the information your insurance company needs to process a claim. This includes healthcare codes, my credentials, and a breakdown of services. It's designed to make reimbursement as straightforward as possible.

Contact your insurance company
Ask if they reimburse for out-of-network lactation services provided by an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant), especially for CPT codes like 99404 or S9443.Submit the superbill
Most insurance companies accept claims through their online portals, apps, or by mail. You'll typically need to include:The superbill I provide
A claim form (often found on their website)
Baby’s and mother’s insurance information (if separate)
Follow up if needed
If reimbursement is denied, you have the right to appeal. Many families find success after a second submission or a quick call to customer service.

Under the Affordable Care Act, many plans are required to cover lactation services without cost-sharing. However, coverage varies widely by insurer and plan. Unfortunately, Medicaid and some HMOs may not reimburse for out-of-network care—but you can always check.
